The great thing is you don't have to keep taking it if you don't want to.
Some women I know get a little bit of testosterone thrown in the mix. Instant party girl mode.
There is also the brain thing.
Some $%^& relative told my Mom that HRT was bad for her and she stopped after taking it for years. Her brain did not do well. She didn't do well. The anger was hard to watch--rage and dementia.
Seems clear the estrogen protects the brain somehow as I've read elsewhere. would add link but I can't remember 😳
I think there was just so little research out there until recently about menopause in general. How on earth did it take the world this long to actually pay attention to an entire gender! It was like it was a taboo conversation to have. And my mom died young, before I was close enough to menopause to talk to her about what her symptoms were like. Thank goodness, we have more information finally!
Yes! Thank goodness! More information to bury that bogus study that said HRT would give us cancer (I’m read it was a study of women decades into menopause suddenly getting estrogen again. (what could go wrong?))
(Sorry you lost your Mom so early). It was totally a taboo subject with my Mom as was periods, sex, boys, etc
I had a really young fun mom who loved to talk about all of that stuff! Embarrassingly so. 🤦♀️ I would blush when she’d bring up the topics. So I know full well she would’ve been happy to share everything with me. At least it would’ve helped me understand what to expect assuming I would follow in my mom‘s genetic footsteps.
One of my clients took on a big hospital’s women’s center a couple years ago and came down on them for having so little access to women going through menopause. Turned into a new career for her! Now she’s helping to evolve the women’s center. I’ll try and attach the first newsletter that she just posted recently. It’s very informative!
Great one!
Love!! Thank you for writing this. I am taking Power Surges. LOL
So well written.
Will look for your view on other things.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏼
I missed most of this, but not all.
I went the HRT route and I'm happy I did.
I had a special needs small child at the time and a full time high stress job--would not have made it quite so gracefully as I feel that I have.
I think I’m going to consider that as well. I also have not had anything too severe, but feel that I would probably get a little support from HRT.

Yep! Sounds very close to what I went through! Praise God that’s over! On to being technically “old” now! Hahahaha! (Embracing every moment)
